SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY 625 PM CST MON DEC 14 1987 ...TORNADO WATCH FOR PARTS OF ARKANSAS AND A SMALL PART OF THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL... AT TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 563 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100PM CST FOR DUNKLIN AND PEMISCOT COUNTIES MISSOURI. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WAS MOVING QUICKLY ACROSS NORTHEAST TEXAS AND ARKANSAS. INDIVIDUAL THUNDERSTORMS IN THIS SYSTEM HAVE BEEN REPORTED MOVING NORTHEAST AT AS MUCH AS 50 TO 60 MPH. AT 615 PM CST NONE OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE NEAR THE MISSOURI BOOTHEEL...WITH ONLY LIGHT RAIN BEING REPORTED OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI. AT 720 PM CST WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT PADUCAH KENTUCKY INDICATED A FEW THUNDERSHOWERS NEAR BLYTHVILLE ARKANSAS AND DYERSBURG TENNESSEE. THESE THUNDERSHOWERS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. NO THUNDERSTORMS WERE INDICATED OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI... A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WAS ISSUED FOR PEMISCOT COUNTY MISSOURI EFFECTIVE UNTIL 910 PM CST. THIS THUNDERSTORMS WARNING WAS ALLOWED TO EXPIRE AT 910 PM CST. POWER OUTAGES WERE EXPERIENCED AT HAYTI AND CARUTHERSVILLE MISSOURI. NO DAMAGE WAS REPORTED AT THIS TIME. AT 930 PM CST SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI.
