AND ADJOINING COASTAL WATERS.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER THE SOUTH HALF OF VOLUSIA COUNTY
JUST INLAND FROM EDGEWATER AND OAK HILL EXTENDING SOUTH INTO
BREVARD COUNTY NEAR COCOA MOVING NORTH AT 15 MPH.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DAYTONA BEACH FL 410 PM EDT WED SEP 2 1987 AT 4PM EDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT DAYTONA BEACH SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM WEST VOLUSIA COUNTY SOUTH OVER THE WEST PART OF BREVARD COUNTY SOUTH THROUGH INDIAN RIVER COUNTY TO NEAR VERO BEACH. THE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH 15 MPH AND WILL PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG THEIR PATHS DURING THE REMAINDER OF THIS AFTERNOON. PERSONS IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. KNOW AND OBSERVE LIGHTNING SAFETY RULES.
