SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE WI 358 PM CDT SUN JUN 7 1987 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF THE NORTHERN HALF OF WISCONSIN UNTIL 10 PM CDT... A WARM FRONT STRETCHES ACROSS NORTHERN WISCONSIN. THIS FRONT SEPERATES VERY WARM CONDITIONS TO THE SOUTH FROM COOLER ONES TO THE NORTH. IT IS THIS FRONT AND THE CLASH BETWEEN THE TWO AIRMASSES THAT WILL FOCUS THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. AT 345 PM CDT..NO THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WAS INDICATED ON RADAR NOR REPORTED IN SURFACE OBSERVATIONS IN WISCONSIN BUT WAS OCCURING IN THE GREAT ADJACENT STATE OF MINNESOTA. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR AND ARE LIKELY TO MOVE INTO WISCONSIN. OTHER STORMS ARE LIKELY TO DEVELOP IN WISCONSIN AS WELL. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE WI 530 PM CDT SUN JUN 7 1987 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF THE NORTHERN HALF OF WISCONSIN UNTIL 10 PM CDT... AT 525 PM CDT..WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A VERY INTENSE THUNDERSTORM MOVING INTO RUSK AND CHIPPEWA COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS 30 MILES NORTH OF EAU CLAIRE. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST AT 40 MILES AN HOUR. IT WILL BE MOVING INTO WESTERN TAYLOR AND NORTHERN CLARK COUNTIES AROUND 6 PM AND AFFECTING THE TOWNS OF GILMAN AND THORP. IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY HEAVY RAINS..SOME HAIL..STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. PERSONS LIVING IN OR TRAVELLING THROUGH TAYLOR COUNTY DURING THE NEXT HOUR SHOULD KEEP AN EYE TO THE SKY AND BE PREPARED FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
