SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORT ARTHUR TX 1230PM CST TUE DEC 19 1987 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH CONTINUES IN EFFECT UNTIL 5PM CST FOR MOST OF SOUTHEAST AND EAST TEXAS. AT 1230PM CST A LINE OF VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM NEAR NACOGDOCHES TO HUNTSVILLE TO NEAR VICTORIA. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 TO 35 MPH. EARLIER STORMS HAD PRODUCED DAMAGING WINDS IN CENTRAL TEXAS. THE STORMS WILL FIRST MOVE THROUGH THE EAST TEXAS LAKES AREA. BOATERS ON SAM RAYBURN AND TOLEDO BEND SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO LOCAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO SHELTERED WATERS. MUCH LATER THIS AFTERNOON THE STORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE AND THE GULF COASTAL WATERS.
