          ...THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING TO INTENSIFY OVER MISSISSIPPI...

WARM MOIST AIR FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO IS BEGINNING TO INTERACT WITH
A WEAK COLD FRONT MOVING SLOWLY SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH THE MISSISSIPPI
DELTA THIS AFTERNOON.

THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN INCREASING IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY DURING
THE PAST HOUR.  THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER THE MISSISSIPPI
DELTA FROM GREENVILLE TO 20 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MEMPHIS...AND ALSO
NEAR THE LOUISIANA-MISSISSIPPI BORDER FROM 20 MILES SOUTH OF COLUMBIA
TO NEW ORLEANS.  INDIVIDUAL STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 20
MILES PER HOUR.

CONTINUED INTENSIFICATION ALONG WITH DEVELOPMENT OF NEW STORMS CAN BE
EXPECTED DURING THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON.  THUNDERSTORMS WILL
PROBABLY BECOME NUMEROUS AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES.
