EFFECTIVE UNTIL 745 PM EST FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF
CENTRAL INDIANA... EAST HANCOCK... NORTH SHELBY
AT 710 PM EST...RADAR SHOWED A POSSIBLE TORNADO 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF
SHELBYVILLE...15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS. THE
STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST 20 MPH.
IF YOU ARE IN A CAR OR MOBILE HOME...LEAVE AT ONCE FOR A BUILDING
WHERE SHELTER CAN BE SOUGHT IN A BASEMENT OR INTERIOR PART OF THE

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN 150 PM EST MON MAY 25 1987 AT 140 PM EST...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE RAPIDLY DEVELOPING OVER THE SOUTHERN THIRD OF INDIANA...WHILE SHOWERS COVERED PARTS OF NORTHERN INDIANA. ONE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM BLOOMINGTON TO TO BEDFORD AND SOUTHEAST TO LOUISVILLE...WHILE A SECOND AREA EXTENDED FROM ABOUT 30 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TERRE HAUTE TO ABOUT 60 MILES NORTHWEST OF EVANSVILLE. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED NEAR BLOOMINGTON...BEDFORD AND ABOUT 20 MILES NORTH OF LOUSIVILLE. OTHER LIGHT RAINSHOWERS EXTENDED FROM SOUTH BEND TO FORT WAYNE AND THEN WEST TO GRISSOM AFB. Q BRIEF GUSTY WINDS..HEAVY RAINFALL AND VIVID LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY SOME OF THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS.
