SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT CORRECTED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX 335 PM CDT FRI JUN 19 1987 A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE WESTERN 1/3 OF NORTH TEXAS UNTIL 9 MP CDT TONIGHT. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MOST OF THE REMAINED OF NORTH TEXAS UNTIL 1000 PM CDT TONIGHT. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH INCLUDES FOLLOWING COUNTIES NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST TEXAS COUNTIES...COLLIN...COOKE...DALLAS... DENTON...ELLIS...FANNIN...FREESTONE...GRAYSON...HODD...HUNT... JOHNSON...KAUFMAN...NAVARRO...PARKER...ROCKWALL...SOMERVELL...TARRANT ...WISE...ANDERSON...CAMP...CHEROKEE...DELTA...FRANKLIN...HENDERSON ...HOPKINS...LAMAR...MORRIS...RAINS...RED RIVER...SMITH...TITUS... UPSHUR...VAN ZANDT...AND WOOD. AT 330 PM CDT AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT 20 MILES WIDE WAS LOCATED ALONG A GAINSVILLE..SHERMAN...BONHAM...HUGO OKLAHOMA LINE. MOVEMENT OF THE AREA WAS TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THE MOST INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED IN THE SHERMAN AREA AND THIS THUNDERSTORM HAS STOPPED MOVING SOUTH AND IS DEVELOPING NORTHWARD TOWARDS THE DENISON AREA. ANOTHER INTENSE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED ABOUT 10 MILES NORTH OF DENISON AND SHOULD MERGE WITH THE FIRST THUNDERSTORM OVER THE DENISON AREA. THE RESULT SHOULD BE AN DRAMATIC INTENSIFICATION OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IN THE DENISON AREA. IF YOU ARE IN THIS AREA YOU SHOULD TAKE PRECAUTIONS FOR HIGH WIND... INTENSE HEAVY RAIN...POSSIBLE FLOODING...eHAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED AS CONDITIONS WARRANT. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT CORRECTED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX 418 PM CDT FRI JUN 19 1987 A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE WESTERN 1/3 OF NORTH TEXAS UNTIL 9 PM CDT TONIGHT. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MOST OF THE REMAINED OF NORTH TEXAS UNTIL 1000 PM CDT TONIGHT. THE DALLAS FORT WORTH METROPLEX IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TORNADO WATCH AREA BUT IT IS IN THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA. AT 418 PM CDT...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM NEAR SHERMAN NORTHEASTWARD INTO OKLAHOMA. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE BETWEEN SHERMAN AND BONHAM AND JUST NORTH OF BONHAM ALONG THE RED RIVER. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. ANOTHER AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN THE WESTERN PART OF NORTH TEXAS FROM NEAR ANSON TO NEAR HASKELL. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS...HAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
