AT 4:30 PM CDT...THUNDERSTORMS REPORTED LAST HOUR OVER PORTIONS OF MCLENNAN AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES HAD DISSIPATED. ELSEWHERE...RADAR INDICATED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER NORTHEAST TEXAS FROM NORTHEAST OF TYLER TO NEAR LAKE LIVINGSTON. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED AS NEEDED.

SOME OF THE CITIES INCLUDED IN THE WATCH ARE ATHENS...CORSICANA...PALESTINE...AND TYLER. THE DALLAS FORT WORTH METROPLEX IS NOT IN THE WATCH AREA. AT 450 PM...RADAR INDICATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...SOME STRONG ...WERE OVER MUCH OF NORTHEAST TEXAS. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED FROM PITTSBURG TO TYLER...FROM CROCKETT TO LUFKIN AND NEAR CENTER. MOVEMENT OF THE THUNDERSTORMS WAS TO THE SOUTH AT 25 MPH. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING FOR PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL AND EAST TEXAS. SOME OF THE CITIES INCLUDED IN THE WATCH ARE ATHENS...CORSICANA...PALESTINE...AND TYLER.
