000 TTAA00 KFAR 030209 SVRFAR NDC073-081-030315- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FARGO ND 909 PM CDT SUN AUG 2 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA...SOUTHERN RANSOM AND SARGENT TO INCLUDE THE TOWNS OF LISBON..GWINNER AND FORMAN NORTH DAKOTA. AT 905 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTH OF LISBON NORTH DAKOTA MOVING TOWARD THE EAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR. REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH AND/OR HAIL 3/4 INCH OR LARGER...DEADLY LIGHTNING... AND HEAVY RAINS THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FARGO ND 835 PM CDT SUN AUG 2 1987 ...INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP JUST SOUTHEAST OF FARGO NORTH DAKOTA... AT 827 PM CDT...INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING RAPIDLY OVER PARTS OF SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA AND OVER PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS LOCATED 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF FERGUS FALLS IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR AND WERE INCREASING IN INTENSITY. PERSONS SHOULD BE ON THE OUTLOOK FOR POSSIBLE ADVERSE WEATHER AND SEEK SHELTER IF NECESSARY. THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINS..HAIL AND STRONG SURFACE WINDS. NORDLAND
