AT 4 20 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND REPORTS FROM THE
MIDDLE GEORIGA EMC INDICATE A POTENTIAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER
THE SOUTHWESTERN CORNER OF DOOLY COUNTY MOVING TO THE EAST NORTHEAST
AT 30 MPH.

AT 3 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS INDICATED NUMEROUS VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL GA. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH AND WERE LOCATED OVER DOOLY AND LAURENS COUNTIES. OTHER DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORMS ARE WIDE SPREAD OVER SOUTHERN GA AND EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO EVENING HOURS. AT 332 PM EDT COLUMBUS WEATHER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS NEAR LEESBURG IN LEE COUNTY. MOVEMENT WAS EAST AT 12 MPH. PERSONS ACROSS SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA SHOULD BE ON THE ALERT THIS AFTERNOON FOR THREATENING WEATHER. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS REPORTED EARLIER IN STEWART COUNTY WHERE GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL WAS EXPERIENCED NEAR THE TOWN OF LUMPKIN. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRRING...GET INSIDE A HOME OR LARGE STURDY BUILDING. DO NOT USE TELEPHONES EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCIES.
