THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES OF

WEST CENTRAL IOWA...
 CALHOUN AND EXTREME SOUTHWEST POCAHONTAS

AT 809 PM...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM OVER EXTREME SOUTHWEST POCAHONTAS COUNTY NEAR
FONDA...ABOUT 40 MILES WEST OF FORT DODGE.

THE STORM WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR...AND WILL
BE AFFECTING THE CITIES OF FONDA...POMEROY...JOLLEY...
AND ROCKWELL CITY.  IN ADDITION...PEOPLE IN THE TWIN LAKES RECREATIONAL
AREA SHOULD TAKE COVER IN A STURDY SHELTER.

REMEMBER..A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH..LARGE HAIL..DEADLY LIGHTNING..AND HEAVY RAINS THAT CAN
QUICKLY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.  PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM
SHOULD TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION IMMEDIATELY.

IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES..YOU SHOULD GO TO A SAFE PLACE
IMMEDIATELY.  IF SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE OBSERVED..PLEASE ASK
