SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 413 AM CDT SUN JUL 5 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 510 AM CDT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHWEST KANSAS... CLARK SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS... KIOWA SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAD FORMED AT THE SOUTHERN END OF A LINE OF VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS FROM NEAR LARNED TO NEAR ASHLAND. THESE STORMS CONTINUED TO MOVE EAST AT 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR INTO CENTRAL CLARK COUNTY AND CENTRAL KIOWA COUNTY. ANOTHER VERY HEAVY STORM WAS OVER PROWERS COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST COLORADO. MOVEMENT OF BOTH STORMS WAS TO THE EAST AT 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. CURRENT TREND SUGGESTS THAT HAMILTON COUNTY WILL EXPERIENCE A VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORM IN THE NEXT HOUR AND THAT NORTHERN FINNEY AND KEARNY COUNTIES WILL DO THE SAME.
