A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT NEAR 25 MPH
THROUGH NUECES...SAN PATRICIO...AND REFUGIO COUNTIES. A POSSIBLE
FUNNEL CLOUD WAS SIGHTED IN NORTH SAN PATRICIO COUNTY. WIND GUSTS
NEAR 55 MPH OCCURED NEAR ALICE DURING THE PAST HOUR.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX 1000 AM CDT WED JUN 3 1987 ...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE COASTAL BEND... A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...WITH A LARGE AREA OF RAIN FOLLOWING... WAS APPROACHING THE COASTAL BEND FROM THE NORTHWEST THIS MORNING. AT 945 AM CDT THE LEADING EDGE OF THE THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM NEAR LAREDO TO FREER IN DUVAL COUNTY NORTH TO JUST WEST OF THREE RIVERS IN LIVE OAK COUNTY TO EAST OF SAN ANTONIO. THE LINE WAS MOVING EAST-SOUTHEAST AT AROUND 20 MPH. PERSONS IN DUVAL AND LIVE OAK COUNTY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR PERIODS OF BRIEF HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS...POSSIBLE SMALL HAIL...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING THE NEXT FEW HOURS. PERSONS IN THE REMAINING COUNTIES OF THE COASTAL BEND COULD EXPERIENCE THE SAME CONDITIONS LATER TODAY AS THE SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH. WITH THE GROUND SATURATED FROM HEAVY RAINS OF THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS... PARTICULARLY IN DUVAL AND JIM WELLS COUNTIES...TEHE THREAT OF ADDITIONAL FLOODING IS PRESENT. THE OUTLOOK IS FOR CONTINUED RAIN...OFF AND ON...THROUGH THURSDAY.
