NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALPENA MI
334 AM EDT SUN AUG 2 1987

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF

NORTHEAST LOWER MICHIGAN...ALPENA

BETWEEN 230 AND 315 AM EDT VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS POURED OVER
AN INCH/1.05/ OF RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF ALPENA COUNTY. THOUGH SOIL
CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN DRY...IT IS LIKELY IT CAN NOT HANDLE SUCH
ARE LARGE AMOJNT IN SUCH A SMALL TIME. IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT
ADDITIONAL MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALLS WILL BE RECIEVED EARLY THIS
MORNING.

STAY OUT OF DRY CREEK BEDS AND LOW LYING AREAS.  FLASH FLOODS CAN
OCCUR WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.

IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNED COUNTY IN AN AREA SUBJECT TO FLOODING
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OVER ROADS COVERED BY FLOOD WATERS.

 THIS SITUATION ARE RECIEVED.
