THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 230 PM MDT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN
NEW MEXICO...MCKINLEY

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED IN THE GALLUP AREA WITH HEAVY
RAIN BEING REPORTED ALONG WITH SMALL HAIL. AT 115 PM MDT THE GALLUP
POLICE REPORTED STREET FLOODING IN PROGRESS WITH WATER RISING RAPIDLY.

THE STORMS ARE MOVING TOWARD THE EAST AT AROUND 10 TO 15 MILES AN
HOUR. FLOODING OF STREAMS AND NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS IS POSSIBLE IN
MCKINLEY COUNTY DURING THE NEXT HOUR OR SO.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS ACTUALLY
BEEN REPORTED..SO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS IMMEDIATELY. REMEMBER..
MANY FLASH FLOOD DEATHS RESULT FROM MOTORISTS DRIVING INTO WATER-COVERED
CROSSINGS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. AVOID THESE AREAS.
