SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RAPID CITY SD 335 PM MDT THU JUN 19 1986 ...THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA... AT 330 PM MDT THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA..FROM JUST NORTH OF RAPID CITY TO 40 MILES SOUTH OF RAPID CITY..NEAR CUSTER. NO SEVERE WEATHER HAD BEEN REPORTED FROM THE THUNDERSTORMS..BUT SOME SMALL HAIL HAD FALLEN NEAR CUSTER AND WINDS GUSTED TO 48 MILES AN HOUR AT THE RAPID CITY REGIONAL AIRPORT..AT 311 PM MDT. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.. AND SOME HAIL. ALL PERSONS IN SOUTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA SHOULD BE ALERT TO CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND SEEK SHEcLTER IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES. DYRDAHL
