NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 845 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES:
 
IN EAST CENTRAL UTAH
          ..NORTHEASTERN EMERY..NORTHERN GRAND
IN NORTHEAST UTAH
          ..SOUTHERN UINTAH

A VERY HEAVY THUNDERSHOWER MOVED THROUGH GREENRIVER BETWEEN 600 AND
615 AND DUMPED .93 INCHES OF RAIN IN THAT 15 MINUTE PERIOD. STREETS
WERE FLOODED AND WATER HAD FILLED UP SMALL DRAINAGE CANALS QUICKLY IN
THAT AREA.
 
THIS STORM IS DEVELOPING AND MOVING NORTHWARD AND IS EXPECTED TO MOVE
INTO THE HILL CREEK EXTENSION OF THE UINTAH AND OURAY INDIAN
RESERVATION IN NORTHERN GRAND AND SOUTHERN UINTAH COUNTIES.  ALSO..
UTAH HIGHWAY 6 BETWEEN PRICE AND GREENRIVER MAY RECEIVE HEAVY RAIN
DURING THE NEXT TWO HOURS.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES, DIPS, OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING# STREAM, EVEN A SMALL ONE,
ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
