SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA 355PM CDT FRI JUN 27 1986 ISOLATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS AND NORTHEAST TEXAS...MAY PRODUCE LOCAL HIGH WIND GUSTS ALONG WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN FALL. AT 355 PM CDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AREA FROM NORTHWEST OF MURFREESBORO ARKANAS TO SOUTHEAST OF MURFREESBORO. ALSO...FROM 15 MILES WEST OF TEXARKANA TO SOUTH OF PARIS TEXAS. VERY STONG STORMS NEAR MURFREESBORO AND NEAR NEW BOSTON AND DEKALB TEXAS WEST OF TEXARKANA...THESE STORMS COULD PRODUCE HIGH WINDS... EXCEEDING 50 MPH ALONG WITH RAINFALL EXCEEDING TWO INCHES IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND MAY PRODUCE FLOODING. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING SLOWLY EAST SOUTHEAST. NUMEROUS SHOWERS ALONG WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER SOUTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS ACROSS NORTHCENTRAL AND NORTHEAST LOUISIANA. VERY HEAVY RAINFALL STILL OCCURRING OVER NORTHERN COLUMBIA AND SOUTHERN NEVADA COUNTIES IN SOUTHCENTRAL ARKANSAS. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR COLUMBIA AND NEVADA COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM CDT. STORM RAINFALL TOTALS WILL EXCEED FIVE INCHES..FLOODING WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP..AFFECTING ROADWAYS. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL BE CONTINUED THROUGH TONIGHT ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST LOUISIANA AND THE ADJACENT AREAS OF SOUTH ARKANSAS. OVER THE EASTERN TIER OF COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST TEXAS AND NORTHWEST LOUISIANA...SOME ROADWAYS REMAIN IMPASSABLE IN LOW AREAS DUE TO BAYOU FLOODING.
