NEWSPSSHV SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA 815 PM CST FRI APR 12 1986 ...ISOLATED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING OUT OF THE EXTREME NORTHEAST CORNER OF TEXAS INTO SOUTHWEST ARKNASAS... AT 810 PM THE WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN SHREVEPORT INDICATED A COUPLE OF VERY STRONG THUNDERSTOMS...ONE ALONG THE RED RIVER SOUTHWEST OF ASHDOWN ARKANSAS AND THE OTHER ALONG THE CASS / BOWIE COUNTY LINE 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TEXARKANA. THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE HEAVY DOWNPOURS...FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND SMALL HAIL AS THEY MOVE NORTHEAST THROUGH THE ASHDOWN AND TEXARKANA AREAS DURING THE NEXT HOUR. THEY WERE MOVING NORTHEAST 30 MPH. THE STORMS WERE PART OF AN AREA OS SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTOMRS THAT EXTENDED FROM NORTHWEST OF IDABEL OKLAHOMA SOUTHEAST INTO THE TEXARKANA AREA. OTHER WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSHOWERS WERE OCCURRING IN NORTHEAST TEXAS FROM NEAR LONGVIEW SOUTH INTO THE HENDERSON / CARTHAGE AREA.
