000 TTAA00 KSGF 070635 SVRSGF MOC059-105-070730- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPRINGFIELD MO 1235 AM CST MON APR 7 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 130 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...DALLAS AND LACLEDE AT 1230 AM CST RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 35 TO 40 MILES NORTHEAST OF SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI NEAR THE TOWNS OF BUFFALO AND LEBENON. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 40 MPH AND WERE INCREASING IN INTENSITY. REMEMBER A SEVERE THUNDESTORM PRODUCES DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH..LARGE HAIL..DEADLY LIGHTNING..AND HEAVY RAINS THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA. THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING..SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED. IF THREATENING WE/ATHER APPROACHES..YOU SHOULD GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY AND RELAY YOUR SEVERE WEATHER REPORTS TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. WB
