SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED ALONG THE FOOTHILLS FROM
FREMONT COUNTY ACROSS CUSTER..WEST PUEBLO..HUERFANO AND LAS ANIMAS
COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST COLORADO. AT 808 PM THE HEAVIEST THUNDERSTORMS
WERE 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TEXAS CREEK..47 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF
COLORADO SPRINGS..IN FREMONT COUNTY AND 5 MILES NORTHEAST OF
TRINIDAD IN LAS ANIMAS COUNTY. CONSIDERBALE LIGHTNING WAS REPORTED
WITH THE THUNDERSTORM NEAR TRINIDAD.
HEAVY RAINS..HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS
AS THEY ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTHEAST COLORADO TONIGHT.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLORADO SPRINGS CO 845 PM MDT FRI AUG 8 1986 ..VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS IN WESTERN EL PASO AND NORTHERN LINCOLN COUNTIES... AT 845 PM MDT RADAR INDICATED A VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORM IN WESTERN EL PASO COUNTY ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTH OF COLORADO SPRINGS.. MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH. ANOTHER VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORM IS 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF ARRIBA IN NORTHERN LINCOLN COUNTY..WHICH IS 25 MILES NORTHEAST OF LIMON. THAT THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. BOTH OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..STRONG GUSTY WIND..HAIL..AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. PERSONS IN THE AREAS NEAR THESE STORMS SHOULD BE ALERT TOO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS.
