SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PUEBLO CO 548 PM MDT TUE JUL 1 1986 ...HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTHEAST PUEBLO COUNTY... AT 535 PM MDT HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED INTO NORTHEAST PUEBLO COUNTY ABOUT 15 MILES NORTHEAST OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO. THESE STORM WERE MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. STRONG WINDS HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS. AT 535 PM MDT A WIND GUST OF 49 MPH WAS RECORDED AT THE PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER EASTERN COLORADO INTO THE NIGHT. THESE STORMS COULD PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN.. HAIL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS. AT 635 PM MDT HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED IN PUEBLO COUNTY 15 MILES EAST OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO NEAR THE TOWN OF BOONE. THESE STORM WERE MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. OTHER HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS HAD DEVELOPED IN NORTHERN CROWLEY COUNTY 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF LA JUNTA AND NORTHWEST OF HASWELL IN WESTERN KIOWA COUNTY.
