NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
310 PM MST THU AUG 28 1986

AT 300 PM MST RADAR AND SATELLITE PHOTOS SHOWED TWO MAIN AREAS OF
THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER ARIZONA.  ONE AREA IS IN A LINE
FROM THE GRAND CANYON SOUTHWEST TO THE COLORADO RIVER JUST NORTH
OF YUMA.  THESE STORMS..SOME HEAVY..ESPECIALLY IN THE AREA NORTHWEST
OF PRESCOTT..ARE MOVING TO THE WEST NORTHWEST.

THE SECOND AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS IS DEVELOPING IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA
GENERALLY IN A LINE FROM THE HAYDEN/WINKLEMAN AREA SOUTHWESTWARD INTO
PIMA COUNTY JUST WEST OF TUCSON.  THESE STORMS ARE ALSO MOVING TO THE
WEST NORTHWEST.

SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALSO DEVELOPED NORTHWEST OF PHOENIX IN THE
VICINITY OF LAKE PLEASANT..AS WELL AS SOUTHEAST OF THE CITY IN THE
FLORENCE AREA.  THUNDERSTORMS MAY MOVE INTO THE PHOENIX METROPOLITIN AREA
FROM THE SOUTHEAST LATER THIS EVENING.

ANY OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS.  THEY MAY
PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS..BLOWING DUST..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING..HAIL..
OR HEAVY RAIN WITH LOCAL FLOODING.  PERSONS ENGAGED IN OUTDOOR
ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE ALERT TO DEVELOPING WEATHER CONDITIONS.  YOU
SHOULD PREPARE TO TAKE SHELTER IF THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH YOUR AREA.

FURTHER STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED AS CONDITIONS WARRENT.
