SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WICHITA FALLS TX 405 PM CDT MON SEP 29 1986 ...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS FROM 4 PM UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...FOARD...HARDEMAN...WILBARGER AND WICHITA. AT 400 PM CDT NO PRECIPTATION WAS OCCURRING IN ANY OF THE ABOVE COUNTIES. HOWEVER THUNDERSTORMS SOME VERY HEAVY WERE DEVELOPING IN AREA SOME 30 MILES WIDE FROM NORTH OF LUBBOCK TO NEAR WELLINGTON IN THE SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE. OTHER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING TO THE NORTHEAST AND NORTHWEST OF ABILENE. ALL PRECIPITATION MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT NEAR 20 MPH. ADDITIONAL STATEMEN$TS WILL BE ISSUED THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
