SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 420 PM CDT MON JUL 28 1986 ...VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS ARE BEGINNING TO MOVE INTO SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWEST ALABAMA... AT 415 PM CDT THE MOBILE RADAR SHOWED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM 25 MILES NORTH OF LEAKESVILLE MISSISSIPPI TO 15 MILES NORTH OF HATTIESBURG. OTHER VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM NEAR DEMOPOLIS ALABAMA TO 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF MONROEVILLE. ALL OF THESE VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING TO THE SOUTHWEST AT 15 TO 20 MPH. DAMAGING WINDS, FREQUENT LIGHTNING, HAIL, AND VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS AS THEY MOVE INTO SOUTHWEST ALABAMA AND SOUTHEAST MISSISSI#PPI DURING THE NEXT HOUR.
