000 TTAA00 KMKE 262150 SVRMKE WIC073-262245- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MILWAUKEE WI 450 PM CDT THU JUN 26 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF CENTRAL WISCONSIN...MARATHON AT 444 PM WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER WESTERN PORTIONS OF MARATHON COUNTY FROM 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF WAUSAU TO STRATFORD...25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF WAUSAU. THIS LINE IS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. POWER LINES...BRANCHES AND A BARN WERE REPORTED DOWN IN ABBOTSFORD...29 MILES WEST OF WAUSAU. THIS CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING TOWARD WA+USAU AND MOSINEE. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 302 IN EFFECT THROUGH 11PM COVERS MUCH OF THE NORTH HALF OF WISCONSIN. IT REACHES FROM THE UPPER MICHIGAN BORDER TO A SOUTHERN EDGE ROUGHLY FROM EAU CLAIRE TO OSHKOSH AND SHEBOYGAN. SEVERAL BATCHES OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST TO CROSS THROUGH THE NORTH HALF OF WISCONSIN TONIGHT. MANY WILL ACCOMPANIED BY VERY HEAVY RAIN..WHERE TRAFFIC WILL BE SLOWED DUE TO NEAR ZERO VISIBLITY FOR A FEW MINUTES. LIGHTNING STRIKES CAUSING POWER OUTAGES AND STRONG WESTERLY WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY SOME STORMS AS WELL AS SMALL HAIL. AT 430 PM..RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO CENTRAL WISCONSIN. THE LEADING EDGE EXTENDED FROM JUST NORTH OF WAUSAU SOUTHWESTWARD THROUGH AUBURNDALE IN NORTHERN WOOD COUNTY TO WYEVILLE IN NORTHEAST MONROE COUNTY..ABOUT 20 MILES WEST OF NECEDAH. THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE MOVING EAST NEAR 30 MPH. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE IN A BAND FROM ABOUT 10 MILES NORTH OF WAUSAU TO MARSHFIELD. THEY SHOULD BE PASSING THROUGH WAUSAU AND MOSINEE BETWEEN 545 AND 630 PM. NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE! STORMS WITHIN THE PAST HOUR.
