THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  815 PM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES:

IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO
          ..NORTHERN LEA

AT 725 MDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER NORTHERN LEA
COUNTY.. 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TATUM. THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING TO
THE NORTH AT 10 MPH.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH,
DESTRUCTIVE HAIL, DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  FOR YOUR
PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OdF YOUR
HOME OR BUSINESS.  HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DON'T DRIVE
INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.

AND WERE ENCLOSED WITHIN A 190 MILE WIDE AREA FROM 40 MILES SOUTHWEST
OF MARFA TO 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BROWNFIELD.

HEAVIEST ACTIVITY WAS LOCATED 10 MILES EAST OF JAL NEW MEXICO..ALSO FROM
10 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CRANE TO 20 MILES SOUTH OF MIDLAND..AND 10 MILES
N4ORTH AND 10 MILES EAST OF ANDREWS..ALSO FROM 25 MILES WEST TO 35 MILES
NORTHWEST OF HOBBS.

HIGH WINDS..SMALL HAIL..AND FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS CAN BE EXPECTED.

MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR.
