NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 535 PM CDT MON SEP 29 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF WEST TEXAS...CROSBY AT 530 PM CDT RADAR WAS SHOWING A RAPIDLY BUILDING THUNDERSTORM IN EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CROSBY COUNTY...JUST EAST OF SLATON AND THE LUBBOCK COUNTY LINE. THIS THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST-NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THE TOWNS OF CAPROCK AND CANYON VALLEY ARE IN THE PATH. THIS THUNDERSTORM APPEARS ESPECIALLY INTENSE. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECvT FOR THE WARNED AREA SO REMEMBER THESE STORMS CAN OCCASIONALLY PRODUCE TORNADOES.

AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM IN NORTHWEST DICKENS COUNTY. STRONGEST STORMS
WERE FROM EXTREME NORTHWEST LUBBOCK COUNTY NORTHEAST THROUGH HALE COUNTY.
