   THE SOUTH PLAINS...

AT 240 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING ALONG THE
TEXAS-NEW MEXICO BORDER FROM ABOUT 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CLOVIS NEW
MEXICO TO ABOUT 20 MILES NORTHWEST OF PLAINS TEXAS.  THE STRONGEST
STORM ON THE SOUTH PLAINS WAS LOCATED OVER NORTHWEST COCHRAN COUNTY..
OR ABOUT 10 MILES WEST OF MORTON.

MOVEMENT WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

GUSTY WIND..BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..SMALL HAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING MAY
BE EXPECTED WITH PASSAGE OF THE STRONGER STORMS AS THEY PROGRESS
NORTHEASTWARD.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE OVER NORTHWESTERN SECTIONS OF THE
   SOUTH PLAINS...

AT 335 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED SHOWERS AND A FEW STRONG THUNUDERSTORMS
OVER THE NORTHWEST PORTION OF THE SOUTH PLAINS AND THE SOUTHWEST
PORTION OF THE TEXAS PANHNDLE.  THE STRONGEST STORMS ON THE SOUTH
PLAINS WERE LOCATED NEAR MULESHOE IN NORTHEAST BAILEY COUNTY..AND
NEAR MORTON IN NORTHERN COCHRAN COUNTY.

AT 340 PM THE LEADING EDGE OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAD ENTERED
LAMB AND HOCKLEY COUNTIES AS THE STORMS MOVED NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

GUSTY WIND..BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..SMALL HAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING MAY
BE EXPECTED WITH PASSAGE OF THE STRONGER STORMS AS THEY PASS THROUGH
THE AREA.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER NORTHWEST HOCKLEY AND
   SOUTHERN LAMB...

AT 445 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO ABOUT 8 MILES WEST
OF WHITHARRAL IN HOCKLEY COUNTY. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE NORTH-
EAST AT ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR BUT PRESENT RADAR INDICATIONS SHOW A
CHANGE IN MOVEMENT TO THE EAST AT 20  MILES AN HOUR. THIS MEANS THAT
IT SHOULD BE IN THE VICINITY OF WHITHARRAL ALMOST IMMEDIATELY.

ELSEWHERE OVER THE SOUTH PLAINS SCTTERED THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE BUT
AT THE PRESENT TIME CONTAIN NO SEVERE WEATHER. THEY ARE PRODUCING
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS..GUSTY WINDS AND DO HPAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SMALL
HAIL.
