THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 300 PM CDT FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF
WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS... SCOTT
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR GRIGGSVILLE
ILLINOIS AT 215 PM. THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST SOUTHEAST AT
25 MPH. THREE QUARTER INCH HAIL WAS REPORTED WITH THIS STORM EARLIER
THIS AFTERNOON.
THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE LARGE HAIL...HEAVY RAINS...
DAMAGING WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY..CORRECTION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ST LOUIS MO 1232 PM CDT FRI SEP 19 1986 ..INTENSE STORMS IN THE EXTREME NORTHEAST CORNER OF MISSOURI..AND ..WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS.. AT 1230 PM CDT..SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINS WERE OCCURRING IN PARTS THE EXTREME NORTHEAST CORNER OF MISSOURI..AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. THESE INTENSE STORMS WERE IN A 10 MILE WIDE AREA FROM 20 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF QUINCY TO 25 MILES NORTH OF QUINCY ILLINOIS..AND 40 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF QUINCY ILLINOIS. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. THESE STORMS WILL HAVE VERY HEAVY RAINS..VERY STRONG WINDS AND HAIL. PERSONS IN THEIR PATH SHOUULD BE ALERT TO THEIR APPROACH. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS..SOME WITH VERY HEAVY RAINS WERE OCCURRING IN A 160 MILE WIDE AREA FROM NEAR BURLINGTON IOWA TO EVANSVILLE INDIANA. MOVEMENT WAS TO THE EAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. BB
