THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY OF


SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS...SOUTHERN ST CLAIR

AT 1045 AM CST...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM BETWEEN
WATERLOO AND NEW ATHENS ILLINOIS..ABOUT 40 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
ST. LOUIS.  IT WAS MOVING TO THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.

REMEMBER A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH..LARGE HAIL..DEADLY LIGHTNING..AND HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN
QUICKLY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.

REPORT SEVERE WEATHER TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OR THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

ILLINOIS. BETWEEN 915 AM AND 930 AM MARBLE SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED AT
EDWARDSVILLE AND BELLEVILLE ILLINOIS. STRONG GUSTY WINDS WERE ALSO
REPORTED WITH THESE STORMS

THESE STORMS WERE PART OF A 140 MILE WIDE AREA OF STORMS AND SHOWERS
OVER THE EAST THIRD OF MISSOURI AND WESTERN ILLINOIS..THIS AREA EXTENDED
FROM 30 MILES SOUTHWEST OF KIRKSVILLE MISSOURI TO 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF
PADUCAH KENTUCKY.

MOVEMENT WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.
