NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORFOLK NE 540 PM CDT THU JUL 24 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 635 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTHEAST NEBRASKA...MADISON AND STANTON AT 530 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM MEADOW GROVE IN NORTHWEST MADISON COUNTY SOUTH TO PLATTE CENTER IN EAST PLATTE COUNTY MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR. AT 520 PM CDT LINDSAY IN NORTHWEST PLATTE COUNTY REPORTED 50 TO 75 MILE AN HOUR WINDS WITH TREES DOWN. REMEMBER...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE DEADLY WINDS IN EXCESS OF 75 MPH...LARGE HAIL...KILLER LIGHTNING...AND TORRENTIAL RAINS THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA.
