000 TTAA00 KLBF 022046 SVRLBF NEC087-022130- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE 346 PM CDT WED JUL 2 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA...HITCHCOCK AT 345 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTH HITCHCOCK COUNTY OF EXTREME SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA MOVING SOUTH AT 5 MPH. IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES...GET TO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR STRONG DAMAGING WIND..LARGE HAIL..VERY HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. REMEMBER...THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING..SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT!! SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE 209 PM CDT WED JUL 2 1986 AT 205 PM CDT AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN OVER SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA. THE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED ABOUT 2 MILES WEST OF CULBERTSON IN HITCHCOCK COUNTY OR 13 MILES WEST OF MCCOOK. THIS THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE SOME VERY HEAVY RAIN ALNG WITH PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL. MOVEMENT OF THIS THUNDERSTORM IS TO THE EAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITIES OF CULBERTSON AND MCCOOK SHOULD BE ALERT FOR MORE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING IN THE AREA.
