SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE 615 PM CDT WED AUG 6 1986 ...TORNADO WATCH FOR A LARGE PART OF CENTRAL NEBRASKA UNTIL 10 PM CDT... AT 615 PM CDT INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED IN RED-WILLOW COUNTY OF SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA. ONE OF THE STRONGEST CELLS WAS 7 MILES NORTH OF MCCOOK NEBRASKA AND A SECOND STRONG CELL 25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MCCOOK. ALL THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. AS OF 615 PM CDT NO SEVERE WEATHER WAS OCCURRING IN THE NORTH PLATTE LISTENING AREA..HOWEVER THESE THUNDERSTORMS CAN PRODUCE HAIL..HEAVY RAIN..GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. PERSONS IN THE VICINITY OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE ADVISED TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEATHER. MEYER
