SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS 330 PM CST SAT NOV 8 1986 ...THUNDERSTORMS INCREASING OVER NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI... ...TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM FOR THE NORTHERN THIRD OF MISSISSIPPI... AT 3:25 PM...A LINE OF SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS HAD FORMED OVER NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI AND EXTENDED BACK ACROSS SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS AND NORTHWEST LOUISIANA. THE LINE EXTENDED FROM NEAR SHREVEPORT...LOUISIANA TO HOLLY SPRINGS...MISSISSIPPI. SOME OF THESE STORMS HAD INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY IN INTENSITY OVER THE PAST 30 MINUTES...WITH THE STRONGEST ONES JUST WEST OF BATESVILLE...AND OVER SOUTH ARKANSAS 30 MILES EAST OF EL DORADO. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY OVER NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. CONDITIONS REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. < MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT ^35 MILES AN HOUR.
