THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES OF

CENTRAL ILLINOIS...DE-WITT...PIATT AND CHAMPAIGN

AT 616PM, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 20 MILES NORTH OF
DECATUR ILLINOIS..JUST EAST OF WAPPELLA ILLINOIS IN DE-WITT COUNTY.

THE STORM CAUSED PROPERTY DAMAGE AS IT MOVED THROUGH THE VILLAGE OF
WAPPELLA. WINDS WERE ESTIMATED IN EXCESS OF 50 MILE AN HOUR WITH
SMALL HAIL ALSO OCCURRING.

REMEMBER..A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCES DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS
OF 60 MPH...LARGE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAINS THAT CAN
QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA.
