000 TTAA00 KILM 211931 SVRILM NCC061-212030- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON NC 331 PM EDT MON JUL 21 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 430 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF NORTH CAROLINA...DUPLIN AT 328 THIS AFTERNOON THE WILMINGTON RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF KENNASNVILLE. THE STORM IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AROUND 5 MILES AN HOUR. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN. REPORT ANY SEVERE WEATHER TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. JENSKI

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON NC 245 PM EDT MON JUL 21 1986 VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING OVER EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. AT 230 THIS AFTERNOON NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED OVER THE COASTAL AREA BETWEEN 10 AND 20 MILES INLAND FROM THE COAST NEAR HOLLY RIDGE TO ATLANTIC. ANOTHER AREA OF NUMEROUS VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WAS OVER THE SANDHILLS NORTHEAST OF FAYETTEVILLE NEAR GODWIN TO NORTHWEST OF FAYETTEVILLE NEAR SOUTHERN PINES. AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE OVER THE COASTAL PLAINS OVER SAMPSON AND DUPLIN COUNTIES. THE STORMS ARE PRODUCING DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAIN. THEY MAY ALSO PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS. PERSONS NEAR THESE STORMS SHOULD SEEK SHELTER FROM THE LIGHTNING. MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO USE CAUTION.
