000 TTAA00 KILM 102259 SVRILM NCC047-110000- BULLETIN IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON NC 655 PM EDT THU JUL 10 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 800 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF NORTH CAROLINA...COLUMBUS AT 655 PM EDT A CLUSTER OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS INDICATED FROM NEAR WHITEVILLE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA BORDER. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. . THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY CAUSE DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE HAIL..FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND LOCAL FLOODING. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. REPORT ALL SEVERE WEATHER TO YOUR NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ISSUED AT 640 PM EDT FOR ROBESON COUNTY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. FILION

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON NC 545 PM EDT THU JUL 10 1986 VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS IN THE COASTAL PLAINS OF NORTH CAROLINA. AT 530 PM ONE OF THE STRONGEST STORMS WAS IN DUPLIN COUNTY CENTERED AROUND WARSAW AND KENANSVILLE. THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT IN DUPLIN COUNTY REPORTED SMALL HAIL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ALONG WITH FREQUENT LINGTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. THE STORM IS MOVING EAST ABOUT 25 MPH. OTHER VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED FROM NEAR FLORENCE.. THROUGH THE FAYETTEVILLE AREA TO NORTH OF RALEIGH. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTS OF STRONG GUSTY WINDS WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. MORE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING INTO THE COASTAL PLAINS THIS EVENING AND SOME WILL REACH THE CENTRAL COASTAL AREA NEAR NEW BERN AFTER 6 PM. RK
