A WINTER STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR UTAHS NORTHERN MOUNTAINS
ABOVE 6000 FOOT ELEVATIONS TONIGHT AND SATURDAY.

HEAVY WET SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM A MAJOR WINTER STORM WHICH WILL MOVE
INTO NORTHERN UTAH TONIGHT AND LINGER THROUGH SATURDAY. A FOOT OR MORE
OF NEW SNOW IS LIKELY FOR THE MOUNTAINS BY LATE SATURDAY. ALSO A FEW
INCHES OF SNOW SHOULD ACCUMULATE TO THE LOWER VALLEYS OF THE CACHE AND
WASATCH FRONT COMMUNITIES LATER TONIGHT AND SATURDAY.

A VIGOROUS COLD FRONT WILL ARRIVE ACROSS NORTHWEST UTAH BETWEEN 5 AND
6PM THIS EVENING. WASATCH FRONT COMMUTERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
POSSIBLE HEAVY RAIN..STRONG GUSTY SHIFTING WINDS AND SMALL HAIL
ASSOCIATED WITH A FRONTAL THUNDERSHOWER BAND.

LIVESTOCK AND SHEEP RANCHERS SHOULD PROTECT THEIR ANIMALS AND NEWBORNS
FROM WET COLD WINDY CONDITIONS OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS ARE COMMON
THIS AFTERNOON IN WESTERN UTAH AND IN THE LAKE POWELL AREA AND SHOULD
PERSIST TONIGHT WITH HIGHER GUSTS NEAR THUNDERSHOWERS.

FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY SUNDAY MORNING OVER WESTERN UTAH.
ALL FRUIT AND GARDENING INTERESTS SHOULD STAY TUNE TO LATEST
AGRICULTURAL BULLETINS FOR PROBABLE WARNINGS ASSOCIATED WITH EXPECTED
