SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FARGO ND 340 PM CDT TUE JUN 3 1986 AT 330 PM CDT...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE DEVELOPING RAPIDLY OVER WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA BETWEEN FARGO AND DETROIT LAKES. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN A SMALL CLUSTER BETWEEN HAWLEY AND LAKE PARK OR ABOUT 15 MILES WEST OF DETROIT LAKES MINNESOTA. ANOTHER THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WAS LOCATED 20 MILES EAST OF JAMESTOWN IN EXTREME WESTERN BARNES COUNTY. THE THUNDERSTORMS NEAR DETROIT LAKES SHOULD BE MOVING THROUGH THE DETROIT LAKES AREA BY 430 PM CDT. THE STORM EAST OF JAMESTOWN SHOULD BE MOVING INTO THE VALLEY CITY AREA OF EAST CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA BY 430 PM CDT. CONDITIONS ARE GOOD FOR THE CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF THESE THUNDER- STORMS. YOU SHOULD STAY ALERT FOR THREATENING WEATHER AND STAY TUNED TO RADIO AND T.V. AS WELL AS NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. IN ADDITION...WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS AND RAINSHOWERS CONTINUED OVER PARTS OF NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA AS WELL AS NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN THE BEMIDJI/LEECH LAKE AREAS. MOVEMENT OF ALL THE THUNDERSTORMS AND RAINSHOWERS WAS EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. EWENS
