000 TTAA00 KMCN 032030 SVRMCN GAC287-081-032115- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MACON GA 430 PM EDT TUE JUN 3 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 515 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF CENTRAL GEORGIA...TURNER AND CRISP AT 405 PM A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED IN NORTH TURNER COUNTY NORTH OF ASHBURN DRIFTING SLOWLY NORTH. CIVIL DEFENCE IN TURNER COUNTY REPORTED NICKEL SIZE HAIL NORTH OF ASBURN WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM. ALONG WITH WITH LARGE HAIL STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED. IT IS CURRENT DRIFTING NORTH NEAR INTERSTATE 75 TOWARD CORDELE. PERSONS IN NORTH TURNER COUNTY AND NEAR CORDELE SHOULD TAKE SHELTER FROM THIS STORM. MOTORISTS ON I75 SHOULD TAKE WARNING OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ENCOUNTERING LARGE HAIL NEAR CORDELE.

AT 3 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER SOUTHERN GEORGIA. THE HEAVIEST ACTIVITY OVER SOUTH- CENTRAL GEORGIA WERE LOCATED IN SOUTHERN TURNER COUNTY..EXTREME SOUTHERN TELFAIR COUNTY..EASTERN IRWIN COUNTY..AND SOUTHERN BEN- HILL COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WAS TOWARD THE NORTH AT AROUND 8 MPH. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAIN..STRONG GUSTY WIND..AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS OR WARNINGS WILL BE ISSUED AS NEEDED.
