MOVEMENT EAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. PERSONS IN AND AROUND THIS THUNDERSTORM CAN EXPECT STRONG GUSTY WINDS..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING..HEAVY RAIN..AND POSSIBLE SMALL HAIL FOR THE NEXT HOUR AS THIS STORM PASSES THROUGH ELBERT COUNTY. OTHER ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MA+Y DEVELOP ACROSS THE NORTHEAST GEORGIA AREA DURING THE REMAINDER OF EVENING.

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ATLANTA GA 1134 PM EDT MON MAY 26 1986 A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS HAS DEVELOPED OVER NORTH GEORGIA. THIS LINE EXTENDED FROM COBB COUNTY AND THE MARIETTA AREA NORTH ACROSS LAKE ALATOONA INTO EASTERN GORDON COUNTY AT 1130 PM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH, AND WILL BE MOVING ACROSS THE NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE METRO ATLANTA AREA AND ALSO INTO CHEROKEE AND PICKENS COUNTIES BEFORE 1230 AM. STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN WILL ACCOMPANY THE STORMS AS THEY MOVE IN FROM THE WEST.
