THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1140 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY OF

SOUTHEAST TENNESSEE...BRADLEY

AT 1040PM EDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED ON THE WESTERN
BRADLEY COUNTY LINE AND WAS MOVING EAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR.
SMALL HAIL..STRONG GUSTY WINDS..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND
FLOODING OF ROADWAYS AND UNDERPASSES HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH
THIS STORM.

 THIS IS A LARGE AND VERY DANGEROUS STORM, PERSONS IN THE PATH OF THE
 STORM SHOULD TAKE SHELTER IMMEADIATELY.  THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT
 A TORNADO COULD DEVELOP FROM THIS STORM WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ATLANTA GA
1042 PM EDT SAT MAY 24 1986

AT 1030PM EDT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE SPREADING OUT OF ALABAMA
INTO PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST GEORGIA. SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED
STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL AS THEY MOVED THROUGH NORTH ALABAMA
EARLIER THIS EVENING. ALTHOUGH RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WERE
GRADUALLY WEAKENING..A FEW MAY REMAIN STRONG ENOUGH TO GENERATE
STRONG WINDS AND SMwALL HAIL IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA OVER THE NEXT COUPLE
OF HOURS. VIVID LIGHTNING AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL ACCOMPANY THE
STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS.

THE AREA MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE STRONG STORMS EXTENDS
FROM ROME NORTH TO THE TENNESSEE STATE LINE.
