000 TTAA00 KSAT 082257 SVRSAT TXC259-265-090000- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN ANTONIO TX 450 PM CST TUE APR 8 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 6 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS..KENDALL AND KERR AT 450 PM CST..RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST NORTHEAST OF KERRVILLE TEXAS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST INTO KENDALL COUNTY AT 10 MPH. THIS THUNDERSTORM IS ONE OF SEVERAL DEVELOPING RAPIDLY IN KERR COUNTY. OTHERS ARE LOCATED TO THE WEST OF KERRVILLE AND WILL LIKELY INTENSIFY WITHIN THE HOUR. LARGE HAIL..FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND DAMAGING THUNDERSTORM WINDS WILL ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS. BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL AND LOCALIZED FLOODING ARE OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN ANTONIO TX 330 PM CST TUE APR 8 1986 ...COLD FRONT IN STORE FOR SOUTH TEXAS TONIGHT... AN USUALLY STRONG SPRING COLD FRONT WAS LOCATED OVER NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS AT MID AFTERNOON TODAY. STRONG NORTH WINDS GUSTING TO 25 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR WERE BEING REPORTED BEHIND THE FRONT..ALONG WITH CLOUDY SKIES AND TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S AND 70S. SHOWERS WERE DEVEOPING ALONG THE FRONT WHICH STRETCHED FROM NEAR LONGVIEW TO WACO TO SAN ANGELO AT 300 PM THIS AFTERNOON. THE COLD FRONT WILL BE MOVING INTO THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF SOUTH TEXAS WITHIN THE NEXT TWO HOURS AND TO NEAR THE MID TEXAS COAST BY EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ALONG THE FRONT AS IT MOVES INTO SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS. SOME OF THESE WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR PRODUCING HAIL..DAMAGING WINDS AND BRIEF BUT VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. MOTORISTS ARE ESPECIALLY CAUTIONED AGAINST THE THREAT OF LOWERED VISIBILITY AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING IN AND AROUND THE HEAVIER STORMS. WINDS ALONG THE COASTAL AREAS WILL SHIFT RAPIDLY AS THE FRONT PASSES..GUSTING TO 20 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR ALONG THE UPPER COAST TONIGHT AND ALONG THE MIDDLE COAST EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
