FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN TX
711 AM CDT THU OCT 23 1986

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF

TEXAS...LAMPASAS...BURNET...TRAVIS...HAYS AND WILLIAMSON

AT 7 AM CDT WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY COVERED A LARGE PORTION
OF CENTRAL TEXAS. RAINFALL SINCE MIDNIGHT HAS TOTALED 2 TO 3
INCHES IN SOME OF THE HEAVIER RAINFALL AREAS. MOST OF THE HEAVY
RAIN HAS BEEN WEST OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35. AND HEAVY RAIN WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH THAT SAME AREA FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER HOUR.

FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS HAS BEEN REPORTED IN LAMPASAS
COUNTY SOUTHWEST TRAVIS COUNTY AND NORTHERN HAYS COUNTY.

REMEMBER THAT DEATHS DURING FLASH FLOODING ARE OFTEN RELATED TO
MOTORISTS DRIVING THROUGH FLOODED LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
