000 TTAA00 KDDC 222218 RRA SVRDDC KSC119-222300- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 500 PM CDT MON SEP 22 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES... SOUTHWEST KANSAS..NORTHERN HALF MEADE COUNTY. RADAR INDICATES A STRONG THUNDERSTORM COVERS MOST OR NORTHERN MEADE COUNTY AND IS NEARLY STATIONARY. STRONG GUSTS OF WIND OF 50 TO 60 MILS AN HOUR CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS AND PROBABLY MARBLE SIZE HAIL AND MODERATE RAINFALL. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 430 PM CDT MON SEP 22 1986 AT 430 PM CDT A NEAR SOLID LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS HAS DEVELOPED SOUTH OF DODGE CITY EXTENDING FROM ELKHART KANSAS NORTHEAST TO NEAR GREENSBURG KANSAS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE BUILDING RAPIDLY THE PAST HOUR AND ARE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR. THE STRONGER STORMS WERE NORTH OF LIBERAL IN NORTHERN SEWARD COUNTY AND IN THE BUCKL6IN KANSAS AREA 25 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DODGE CITY. THESE STORMS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG A COLD FRONT THAT LIES ACROSS KANSAS AND COULD CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. NOLLER
