000 TTAA00 KDDC 260059 SVRDDC KSC187-260200- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 800 PM CDT FRI JUL 25 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 900 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHWEST KANSAS...STANTON AT 800 PM CDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS 5 MILES SOUTH OF JOHNSON IN CENTRAL STANTON COUNTY AND MOVING DUE NORTH AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. AT PRESENT MOVMENT IT WILL ENTER THE CITY OF JOHNSON IN ONE HALF HOUR. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE FREQUENT..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING..LARGE HAIL..AND DAMAGING WINDS. THE STORM WAS ABOUT 5 MILES SOUTH OF HUGOTON OR 65 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF GARDEN CITY. THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST NORTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. AT 705 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED TWO VERY HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS. ONE OVER MORTON COUNTY...ABOUT 5 MILES NORTHEAST OF ELKHART OR 70 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GARDEN CITY.....AND THE OTHER OVER CENTRAL STEVENS COUNTY NEAR HUGOTON OR 65 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF GARDEN CITY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING DUE NORTH AT 15 MILES AN HOUR. BOTH STORMS WERE QUITE INTENSE AND ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING BREIF VERY HEAVY RAINS....STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND SOME SMALL HAIL.
