000 TTAA00 KDDC 200035 SVRDDC KSC057-200130- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 730 PM CDT SAT JUL 19 1986 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHWEST KANSAS...SOUTHEAST FORD AT 730 PM CDT RADAR INDICATES A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN SOUTHEAST FORD COUNTY JUST WEST OF BUCKLIN MOVING TO THE SOUTHEAST AT 20 MPH. 1 INCH HAIL WAS REPORTED 18 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DODGE CITY...AT FORD KS... AT 655 PM CDT. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE FREQUENT..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING..LARGE HAIL..AND DAMAGING WINDS. GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY. GHOLSON

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 400 PM CDT SAT JUL 19 1986 THUNDERSTORMS..SOME POSSIBLY BECOMING SEVERE..HAVE MOVED INTO SOUTHWEST KANSAS FROM THE WEST-NORTHWEST. COUNTIES RECEIVING RAINFALL FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS INCLUDE HAMILITON AND STANTON COUNTIES ALONG THE COLORADO BORDER AND KEARNY COUNTY. THE STORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY TO THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AND ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY AND COVERAGE AS THE AFTERNOON PROGRESSES. RESIDENTS OF SOUTHWEST KANSAS SHOULD BEAWARE THAT SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS COULD DEVELOPE RAPIDLY AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO SAFER QUARTERS QUICKLY. NOLLER

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS 433 PM CDT SAT JUL 19 1986 A BROKEN LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS..SOME VERY HEAVY..CROSSES SOUTHWEST KANSAS AHEAD OF A SURFACE COOL FRONT. THE LINE CROSSED THROUGH NORTHWEST FINNEY..KEARNY AND STATON COUNTIES ON INTO COLORADO. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE 5-10 MILES NORTHWEST OF GARDEN CITY KANSAS BETWEEN HOLCOMB AND FRIEND KANSAS MOVING TOWARDS GARDEN CITY. VERY HEAVY RAIN REDUCING VISIBILITY TO NEAR ZERO SMALL HAIL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE HEAVIER STORMS. PERSONS IN GARDEN CITY ESPECIALLY SHOULD STAY IN OR NEAR SAFE SHELTER AS THE STORM APPROACHES THEIR COMMUNITY ARRIVING WITHIN THE HOUR. NOLLER
