THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND 
SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE 
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF

EXTREME SOUTH TEXAS...HIDALGO...STARR...KENEDY...SOUTHERN BROOKS AND 
 SOUTHERN JIM HOGG
...THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS FOR THE
COUNTIES JUST MENTIONED

AT 245 PM CDT..DAMAGING WINDS WERE BUFFETING EXTREME SOUTH TEXAS.
50 TO 60 MPH WIND WERE SWEEPING STARR COUNTY NEAR EL SAUZ. EARLIER
AN 80 MPH GUST HIT FALFURRIAS IN BROOKS COUNTY.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...
HAIL THE SIZE OF A PENNY OR LARGER...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY
HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD STREETS AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
