IT/LL MOVE THROUGH THE NORTHERN HALF OF CORTLAND COUNTY WITH DAMAGAING WINDS. THIS STORM ALSO CONTAINS FREQUENT LIGHTNING. REMEMBER..LIGHTNING CAN BE A KILLER. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. TTAA00 KBGM 072035 SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT AND RADAR SUMMARY NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BINGHAMTON NY 435 PM EDT MON JUL 7 1986 VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN THE VICINITY OF SENECA FALLS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED WIND GUSTS THAT TOOK DOWN FAIR SIZED TREES IN SOUTHER WAYNE COUNTY..SO IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.. TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF CENTRAL NEW YORK UNTIL 9 PM TONIGHT. STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE SCATTERED BETWEEN OTSEGO COUNTY..ACROSS THE NORTHERN FINGER LAKES TO NIAGARA FALLS. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PARTS OF CAYUGA AND SENECA LAKES. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST AT 40 MPH.
